Hi, my name is Brendon. I am 19 years old and I'm from Luton, however I moved to London when I was 4, and then moved and have lived here in Sheffield when I 6 years old, and have been living Sheffield for 10 years.
I am currently first year in Acting and Performance (P.S. I Joined during the start of September, I just written this out and joined the community online today). Acting was always something I found myself passionate about since I was 3 years old. I was a huge fan of animated movies and television series, in which my love for cinema grew even more after a specific series of films which really made love film and want to be an actor. Seeing films directed by many big names, such as Ridley Scott, Christopher Nolan, Denis Villeneuve, Brian De Palma, Stanley Kubrick and so many others and their films, really had an impact on my childhood for someone who was always fond of film. Though there are many films I adored since youth, there are the specific films which really stood out to me at a young age growing up making me want to become a successful screen actor particularly, which were the 2000s Gladiator, 2016's Arrival, 1995's La Haine, Michael Mann's Heat and so many more which really stood out in my childhood. Seeing iconic actors such as Robert De Niro, Al Pacino and Russell Cowe deliver such powerful performances had never made want to be an actor so much. So many others actors who i've seen throughout my history in watching films such as Denzel Washington, Robin Williams, Daniel Day Lewis, Leonardo DiCaprio, James Earl Jones, Damson Idris, and more have given performances in film which had inspired time and time again to becoming an actor. I've watched so many films I felt like I also could've done Film Studies, however my standout for acting and performing was very much so aspired after I had watched my very first pantomime at the Sheffield City Hall Theatre. Every since that day, I had fallen in love with live theatre, in which The Sheffield City Hall and the Lyceum Theatre felt like two different homes of our own. Since then, my love for theatre and cinema had continue to increase, to the point now where I fully invest in my future and take acting even more seriously.
At Hallam, I hope to meet people who are creative and love the world of filmmaking and acting/performing as much as I do. I may be a quiet individual, but when it comes to film talk and having creative minds, I can yap a lot :). I hope to make new and long-lasting friends who all want to create and have fun in the process of this journey as aspiring actors and filmmakers. Individually, I hope I can continue to harvest my acting skills and personal traits as an actor/performer, expanding my current skills and traits learning new and more abilities, and other things I've taken from the experience of two decades watching films and theatre, which can make me standout as an actor. I aim to continue exploring the world of acting, gaining new experiences along the way finding out more and learning more through the accessible which may not have been available for me during my time at primary nor college. Overall, I aim to have the best 3-4 years at University.
