I’m a Filmmaking MA student at Sheffield Hallam University. As part of the course, I’m making a 3-minute genre-bending silent comedy and I’m looking to cast an actor to play both lead roles.
Synopsis
Billy is so good at sleeping in late he could go professional.
When mysterious events sabotage his efforts to make breakfast, a universe of possibilities open up for him (and someone he might recognise).
Imagine Bake Off versus Douglas Adams, then quickly forget both.
Welcome to the worlds of "Breakfast For Too Many".
The Role of Two Lifetimes
I'm seeking an actor who enjoys genre-bending comedy and can embody two versions of the same person.
From the script:
BILLY: male, 20s to 30s, hair messed up, unshaven, wears faded, crumpled t-shirt.
WILLS: looks exactly like Billy, except is dressed smartly: shirt, tie, trousers; his hair is tidy; his facial hair is tidy/none.
The Small Print
Enthusiasm for the role and professionalism will be considered just as much as experience.
Filming will take place on one day between 1st and 20th of November at a house in Fulwood, Sheffield. The crew will be from my course. We'll be using professional camera, lenses and lighting equipment.
Costumes can be provided, but the successful applicant can wear own clothes if preferred.
All expenses will be covered, such as travel and catering on the day.
The chosen applicant will receive 4K and HD copies of the film for their showreel.
If you’re interested in the role, please contact me at paul.b.hill@student.shu.ac.uk and tell me a bit about yourself (acting experience, links to your showreel or other work, what you are doing now, what kind of films/TV you like). If I think you’re a good fit for the role, I’ll send you a copy of the script and we can discuss details.
