Joe Carnall Jr is casting for ‘How Could I Forget?, a new musical that explores intergenerational relationships and the power of music as memory through one family’s experience of Alzheimer’s disease. Produced by Swans Events and directed by Lauren Partridge, the play has received ACE funding for a three week rehearsal period with three performances at Drama Studio in Sheffield, following a successfully funded R&D to industry professionals in 2024.

SYPNOPSIS

Estranged from his own father and about to begin university, shy Billy has depended on his grandparents Jack and Jean more than most. But his Grandad’s light is quickly fading and Billy has made him a promise - it would give Jack no greater pride than to see Billy perform on stage. With its distinctive Northern charm and a mixture of musical styles, ‘How Could I Forget?’ is a love letter to Grandparents and the influence that they have on our lives.
