Hi! I'm Miranda, and I'm the producer for a new devised show about computer programming. We want to help our audience critically engage with the technology around them, and show that behind every program is a fellow human. The show is in very very early stages - workshopping, R&D - and we are looking for additional theatre-makers to create it with us.
We have two separate roles in mind, though they could also be one person - a performer who will join Tim Norwood on stage, and a designer who can help us devise a show which integrates programming into its sound, lighting, set, etc.
For both roles we are especially interested in anyone with a background in computer science, IT, or software design, and anyone who has worked with puppets before. These are interests not requirements - we also want to hear from you if you have neither of those things!
These roles are currently unpaid, but we do intend to apply for funding further down the line. We are working in an accessible, slow development mode - we expect to meet on Fridays or weekends every couple of weeks, and slowly increase this intensity over the next 8-12 months. We are aiming for the show to be performance ready in Autumn 2022.
If this sounds interesting to you, please get in touch by emailing me at mirandadebenham@gmail.com with a little information about yourself, or DM me if email is difficult for you. I will then get back in touch to arrange a coffee or zoom call to chat more about it. The deadline for expressing interest is Friday 5th November. Thanks!
