Sheffield Theatres - Audio Description Training

Sheffield Theatres - Audio Description Training

Sheffield Theatres is looking to expand its pool of Audio Describers to deliver Audio Description for blind and visually impaired audiences who come to enjoy live productions across their stages.

They are looking for individuals who feel passionate about accessibility and are looking to develop new skills in Audio Description.

Sheffield Theatres will be providing training for 4 individuals who have a genuine interest in this work and who, on successful completion of this training, will have the opportunity to join their cohort of paid Audio Describers for future productions.

This Hybrid training will take place on Zoom and at the Crucible across November to January, culminating in an Audio Description Assessment during the production of White Christmas.

If you would like to be considered for this free training, please send a brief expression of interest to Dawn Richmond-Gordon (d.richmond-gordon@sheffieldtheatres.co.uk) by 26th October.

This expression of interest should include the answers to the following questions:

Why would you like to work with Sheffield Theatres?
Why is accessibility important to you?
Previous experience is not a requirement, but please do let us know about any experience you already have in this area.
