My name is Madeline, I am an actor and performance maker. I was born and raised in a town on the outskirts of Nottingham, Newark, and I have currently moved to the city of Sheffield to study on the Acting and Perfromance degree.
I have 5 years of drama training which came from Sir William Robertson Academy, alongside theatre groups at a younger age in my local area, such as New Youth Theatre. Within my years of training i applied myself to musical theatre in school plays such as; Into the woods, where I was cast as Jack's mother. Brenda part of the Nicest kids in town dancer in Hairspray, and a virtual meledy production where I was Katherine Howard in Six the musical and Karen Smith in Mean girls.
Within the roles of the play we went and toured primary schools, in which we carried out workshops in our cotumes and playing our characters to give them a sense of envolvement and insight to what musical theatre is like. We helped them learn dances and lines and when they came to watch the production they would come backstage and around the set to see all the components of what goes into a production.
Inside my Drama and Theatre A level we also had the opportunity to work with lights and set design within the winter musical which was Into the Woods and Hairspray. This involved making certain set designs and also being shown how to work cetrain lights such as spotlights.
