My name is Jasmine Jones, I am an 18 year old aspiring actor and filmmaker from Sheffield. Most of my experience currently involves theatre and stage, after I attended a musical theatre school for 9 years where I did shows such as Beauty and the Beast where I played Lumiere, Annie where I played Miss Hannigan and many more. Alongside this, I was running a drama club in my secondary school, which involved teaching and creating scenes, choreography and songs.
I then began more professional work once leaving school and studying BTEC drama in college. this included theatre work such as performing in the Sheffield arena alongside famous comedian/actor Jack Whitehall as one of his performers. I also performed at Disneyland Paris as a part of the Perform in the magic program. In 2018 I was part of the Natinonal Theatre Connections where I performed a play called The Blue Electric Wind in the cruicible.
I also began a paid internship with Chol Theatre in 2019, which gave me the opportunity to create different types of interactive theatre, making my own online performances and getting the chance to work with industry professionals such as Black Mirror director David Slade. From that internship I began creating my own short films, such as a short film I made based on Sheffield Artist Pete Mckee titled The Snog This has been showed at The Showroom Shorts and is set to be shown in other film festivals. I then began a course with the BFI film academy in 2020 where I continued to work with industry professionals and made my own short film, of which I starred in.
My final project, insular, premiered at The Showroom Cinema in August 2021. Alongside producing Insular, I starred in a music video for a band called Sunburn Bliss where I played the lead. Other short film experience includes a lead role I had in a short film named underneath in 2019 and extra work.
