SHU Performance Lecturer Dani Abulhawa will be taking part in EXPRESSIONS OF PROTEST: JOURNEYS TO UNDERSTANDING as part of the Festival of Debate with singer-songwriter and theatre maker Avital Raz.

The event includes a theatrical performance by Avital, a screening of The Slide (the film I made for the Human Rights Futures event), and a panel discussion. The event is on Friday May 24th, 7.30-10.30pm at Sheffield Hallam Performance Lab (Arundel Gate Court).

Details: Jerusalem born singer-songwriter Avital Raz and performance artist Dani Abulhawa are friends. Dani’s father grew up in East Jerusalem, Avital in the west. On equal ground they explore their heritage and connection to Palestine/Israel through live performance (My Jerusalem), film (The Slide), a short talk and panel debate.

This event is part of the 'Who We Are' strand which has kindly been sponsored by Abbeydale Brewery.
