Trees, treks and troupes! During welcome week, a trip to the magnificent Endcliffe park was set up. On Thursday the 23rd September our journey into a brand new and exciting location was a great way for every Sheffield Hallam Acting & Performance students to break the ice and get to know each other. The sun was out, the sky was blue and the air was cool in one of the most pleasant grasslands of Sheffield. With lots more to do on the agenda, already it was a day to remember.
After we warmed up with a few activities and became more acquainted in smaller groups, we were split off with said groups and were told we needed to devise a short piece with our stimulus being our surroundings and whatever our imaginations could envision, this worked very well as Endcliffe's natural beauty and stunning landscape inspired a wide variety of unique performances.
My group settled on the theme of betrayal and deceit after we trapped our pretentious leader in the treasury of Queen Victoria
With an quaint place like Endcliffe on our doorstep, on top of devising our own pieces and watching others. That adventure was truly phenomenal.
