Hello, my name is Daisy and I'm coming straight from a performing arts course at college to start university. I am so excited to start as acting is such a big passion of mine. All my life I have been taking part in many productions and have done five shows at Derby theatre as part of the National Theatre Connections festival. Outside of acting I love to read, write and I love live music so any gig, I'm there!
I can't exactly pinpoint one performance that has stood out to me as everything I have seen has moved me and inspired me in some way. Last summer, I went to see 'Best of enemies' at a local cinema as I couldn't make it London and it just blew me away. The play, as factual and serious as it may have been, had comedy in it, feel in it and showed the real people behind major public events. I just love how theatre can do that and show real life and feeling in just about anything in life. Even if you have never experienced what is happening in the story, you can find yourself in almost any play and being able to act in those plays can be super spiritual and comforting. I also love reading modern classics such as Tennessee Williams and Edward Albee. I would love to perform in one of their plays so reading them inspires me to learn and practice more as an actor.
My aspirations for this course is to not just grow as an actor but also as a person. I would love to try some new styles and themes that I have never explored before and work with some texts that I haven't worked with yet such as Shakespeare. I would like to grow more comfortable in myself and let that show through the acting that I do.
I am so excited to start and can't wait to meet you all! :)
(Just reposted this because I definetly did not mean to post that big picture haha).
