About me!

Hey! I’m Jade from a town called Rotherham and I’m 18 years old. I’ve recently finished my A-Levels and I’m thrilled to start the course as acting is my main ambition. I’ve been involved in multiple shows, my most recent being ‘Beauty and the Beast’ which was amazing and followed through really well!

In my spare time aside from acting, I love to make, write, and listen to music. I’m a very outdoorsy person - I love sight-seeing, shopping, and travelling! I’m pretty much an extrovert, I love socialising and I’m so excited to meet new people! I really love going to gigs as well - I hope Oasis bring out more tour dates haha!

I have fortunately been lucky enough to see a variety of incredible performances - ranging from being live, on TV or binge-watching new musicals on Netflix and similar apps. Trying to narrow down to one performance to talk about is extremely hard, as I’ve fully enjoyed every single one that I have been to. ‘Dirty Dancing’ the musical at the Sheffield Lyceum was fantastic with all of the intricate lighting, the flowing choreography and the confident stage presence from all of the actors. The confidence within the performers in that show inspired me to match that same level of not being afraid to push characters further in my then-future performances.

I’ve recently went on a weekend trip to London and watched The Lion King musical at the London Lyceum - I couldn’t just not talk about it! The music, the beautiful harmonies, the amount of detail in the animalistic costumes that are hooked up to your own movement of your body! Again, I loved the way that each and every character fully immersed themselves in their specific character - pushing their characterisation to the fullest to really engage with the audience. In a similar way to how ‘Dirty Dancing’ has inspired me, I intend to replicate the amount of effort I will put into my future characters I take on.

Within the course, I would like to explore a variety of acting styles and practitioners as I felt restricted to sticking with similar and small handful of acting styles in college. But entirely, I’m looking forward to the course as a whole!

Can’t wait to meet you all, see you at induction!
