Hi I’m Yasmin and I’m 19 years old and I’m from Northampton.
I have just had an amazing gap year where I was lucky enough to travel South East Asia and Australia. Besides my love of acting, I have many hobbies such as reading, singing, sports and Im always up for trying new things. I love to socialise with my friends and can’t wait to meet so many new people.
I love watching all kinds of performances and feel like many have inspired me in different ways. However, one that does stick out to me, which I watched in Coventry not too long ago was a play called ‘Drive Your Plow Over the Bones of the Dead’ by Olga Tokarczuk.
This performance inspired me as it originally didn’t stand out as a piece of theatre I would typically watch. However, i was completely taken by the dark comedy and they way they used physical theatre mixed with aspects of stage and lighting to uncover this murder mystery had me engaged from the start to the finish. This inspired me to broaden the range of theatre that I went to see and to take part in different styles of theatre that I had not done before.
Whilst studying, I hope to gain more insight to different techniques and styles of theatre and be able to build onto my acting abilities. Im super excited to start the course and can’t wait to meet everyone :)
