Everybody's Talking About Jamie

The hit West End Musicial "Everybody's Talking About Jamie" is to be made into a film by Warp Films this summer. In November the creative team behind the show (Director - Jonathan Butterell, writer - Tom McRae and Musical Director - Dan Gillespie Sells) were awarded Honarary Doctorates by Sheffield Hallam University and visited the Performance Lab to take part in an "In Conversation...", run by the Performance team. They were so impressed with Performance Lab that they have asked about its availability for rehearsals after Easter (as they will be filming almost exclusively in South Yorkshire), but are also holding auditions in there on Saturday. In the auditions they are conducting dance, acting and singing workshops. As a consequence four large dance mirrors were delivered to Performance Lab this morning.

Something else that we talked to Jon, Tom & Dan about was whether they would need any extras for the film. They said 'yes', especially for a large outdoor scene, to be filmed in North Sheffield in the summer. We will update as we hear more
