My name is Jodie Robinson, I am 19 years old and an aspiring actress based in sheffield.
My acting journey started when I was at secondary school, my passion for this career all started when I joined a Theatre School which was called "Razzamatazz Theatre Schools", I had taken part in a performance 0f "Little Shop of Horrors" and "Into the Hoods" staging back in June 2015, in which I was only an extra dancer and actor in this role.
I was then given my first ever main role in June 2016, as Sandy in "Grease", which was where my love and drive for being on a stage performing in front of a large audience all started. After this, I was given the opportunity to perform at the town hall for the Sheffield children's university of the year awards, I had the opportunity to perform the song "Hopelessly Devoted to you" from the musical itself.
I was also able to perform two years in a row at the Sheffield town centre for the Christmas fair, we performed two dance routines and also sang a few songs also. Aswell as things like this we would go bag packing and perform whilst we were there to raise money for our local charity which would help student go on and pursue their aspirations further if they were unable to fund themselves financially, the fundraisers would help out massively whilst also bringing smiles to people's faces which was the best thing about it.
After these acting opportunities, I did my final GCSE performance of Stephen Berkoff's "Metamorphosis" which was a very good turnout. I then went on aspiring to perform further as to why I then chose to study performing arts at college.
At college I took part in a performance about Greek tragedy, I was part of the choral extras that would explain the backstory of the play, and the characters. As time has gone on my love for theatre has only but evolved and grown over time, in which I chose to go further and study performing arts at university and hope to get a degree in the subject.
Just before I had started my first foundation year at Sheffield Hallam, I took part in a performance called "awakenings" which was run by the Babbling Vagabonds drama company, I was given the main role to play as "Jessie", a young girl trying to find her way into the forbidden forest to see if she can save her mother, gran and herself from starvation and poverty.
