The Play Typical Girls follows the story of 5 woman in a prison/rehabilitation centre and a music teacher who helps them learn to work together to channel their emotions through song.
After going to see this play I was surprised with how much I enjoyed it. It was fun to watch, entertaining and even a little heartbreaking at times.
I enjoyed the fact that each of the characters had a monologue that then lead them into a new song.
Although the play was funny and filled with jokes and comedic sketches, it also contained a lot of serious topics that were portrayed very well and done tastefully.
The songs were all done really well and were fun to watch as well due to the visual stimulation of the words being projected onto the wall above in a graffiti style writing.
The actors were all very impressive and made it so much better to watch since they all seemed to have worked really well together and had great chemistry which came across on the stage.
I also thought that it was very easy to get into. I was instantly interested in the story from the moment the play started.
Overall I thought it was an excellent performance with terrific actors and an enjoyable storyline.

I enjoyed this piece of writing, Maia. You've got a really clear style and give a succinct overview of the show and your experience of it. I'm glad you thought it was excellent!
